Creating custom socks in Pocket Styler Studio is an excellent way to add detail to an outfit, as they can be layered under boots or shown off with sneakers.

Follow these steps to create your first pair of professional-looking socks in 2026:

1. Select the Right Template

Open the Pocket Styler Studio and start a new project. Navigate to the Socks category. You will see various lengths: no-show, ankle, crew, or over-the-knee. Pick the height that fits your design vision.

2. Define the Fabric Texture

Socks need to look soft and elastic.

Choose a material: From the library, select a knit or cotton texture.

Adjust Tiling: Since socks are small, increase the tiling scale so the fabric weave looks realistic and tight rather than chunky.

3. Design the “Ribbed” Top

Most socks have a ribbed elastic band at the top.

To achieve this, use the Line tool to draw thin, vertical parallel lines around the top cuff.

Slightly darken the color of these lines to create a “recessed” 3D effect, making the sock look functional.

4. Adding Patterns (The Fun Part)

This is where you can get creative. You can upload your own patterns or use the built-in shapes:

Stripes: Use the Pocket Styler Designer tools to wrap horizontal stripes around the ankle or toes.

Transparency: If you want “sheer” or fishnet socks, lower the Opacity of your main layer and apply a mesh pattern.

5. Add Realistic Shading

Socks wrap tightly around the leg, so shading is vital:

Ankle creases: Use a soft brush with a darker shade to add slight horizontal shadows around the ankle area where the fabric naturally bunches.

Heel and Toe: Add slightly darker patches at the heel and toe to simulate reinforced fabric or depth.

6. Preview and Test

Click the Preview button to see the socks on the 3D avatar. Check how the patterns align at the back of the leg (the “seam” area). If the pattern looks disconnected, adjust the placement on your 2D map.

7. Finalize and Publish

Once you are happy with the look, set your colors, name your item (e.g., “Neon Sport Crew Socks”), and click Publish. Your design will now be available for you and other players to use in the game!
