Step 1: Select Your Base Pattern

Begin by opening the Pocket Styler Studio and selecting a skirt template from the Bottoms category. Choose a silhouette—like a mini or pencil skirt—that will best showcase the sequin texture.

Step 2: Apply the Sequin Fabric Texture

Navigate to the Fabric tab.

Select Sequin Type: Choose the “Sequins” fabric preset from the library.

Base Color: Set your desired base color. In 2026, designers often use slightly darker hues for the base to allow lighter highlights to create a realistic shimmer later.

Step 3: Layering the Sparkle Effect

Standard sequin fabric can sometimes appear flat. To add life, use the Brush Tool to layer individual glimmers.

Create a New Brush Layer: Right-click on your selected panel and choose “+ Add Brush”.

Choose the Brush Preset: Select the “Sequin” or “Sparkle” brush preset.

Adjust Settings:

Set size between 2–4 for fine sequins.

Increase the Scatter setting to avoid a uniform, unnatural look.

Paint Highlights: Use an off-white or a very light version of your base color to paint sparsely over the areas where light would naturally hit (typically the center of the thighs or the hip bones).

Step 4: Add Realistic Shading

To prevent the skirt from looking like a flat sticker, you must manually add depth.

Shadows: Use a Fuzzy Brush with low opacity (around 15-20%) and a darker color to paint shadows along the side seams and the hemline.

Folds: If your skirt has a slight flare, use darker lines to define the natural folds of the fabric.

Step 5: Refine the Waistband and Details

A professional finish often involves a non-sequined waistband for contrast.

Detail Tool: Use the red “Details” shapes to create a smooth silk or leather waistband.

Layering: Ensure the waistband layer is on top of the sequin layer so the sparkle doesn’t overlap onto the smooth fabric.

Step 6: Review and Export

Before publishing, check your design in the 3D Preview to see how the sequins react to the model’s pose. If the shine is too overwhelming, lower the opacity of your sparkle brush layer. Once satisfied, send your item to the game for a final review.
