How to Create a Cuff on a Knitted Sweater Sleeve in Pocket Styler Studio

Today we’ll go through a simple and clean method to draw a cuff for a knitted sleeve — so that it looks natural, voluminous, and blends seamlessly with the main knitted fabric.

1. Preparing the sleeve base

Open the project where you are creating the sleeve. Initially, the sleeve consists of two parts — Upper and Lower.

First, fully shape the upper part of the sleeve the way you need. Below is my example of a finished upper sleeve.

2. Shaping the cuff silhouette

Move on to creating the lower part.

Using the point-editing mode, carefully shape the outer contour of the cuff so that the upper part slightly “overlaps” the cuff, creating the effect of a soft, natural connection of knitted fabric.

3. Choosing the fabric for the cuff

In the Fabrics tab, select a material that will imitate a dense knit.

Set it to the same color as the main sleeve.

4. Adding volume with brushes

Now let’s give the cuff some realism:

use a dark brush along the edges of the cuff to emphasize depth and shape;

then return to the layer with the main sleeve (Upper) and add a light shadow at the connection points — this way the cuff will visually “go under” the sleeve, as it does in real clothing.

This technique makes the sleeve look more lively and believable, and your knitted sweater — neat and professionally finished.
