🎀 How to Create a Tie-Neck Collar in Pocket Styler Studio
A tie-neck collar (also known as a bow collar) is a soft decorative element tied into a bow at the neck.
It is commonly used in:
• romantic and vintage looks,
• school and office styles,
• feminine blouses,
• themed outfits (retro, Victorian, academia).
It adds elegance, softness, and a focal point to the neckline.
🔹 Step 1. Create the Base — the Stand Collar
1. Open a project with a blouse or top.
2. Go to Details → Shape and select a shape suitable for a stand-up collar.
3. Use Point Mode to fit the shape to the neckline — you can make the silhouette more rounded or more structured.
🔹 Step 2. Add the Bow Element
1. In Details → Shape, add another shape — this will become the bow.
2. Use Point Mode to adjust its silhouette: • reshape the bow “loops,”
• make them rounded or slightly asymmetric,
• extend the “tails” if you want longer ribbons.
3. Position the element so it looks naturally attached to the collar.
🔹 Step 3. Paint the Bow Volume
1. Use a dark brush to add shadows:
✔ along the lower edges of the bow loops,
✔ along the fold lines,
✔ around the central knot.
This creates the effect of fabric bending and overlapping.
2. Add light brush highlights:
✔ on the upper parts of the loops,
✔ on the knot,
✔ slightly along the sides for a denser fabric effect.
Highlights make the bow look alive — like satin or soft cotton ribbon.
🔹 Step 4. Light & Shadow on the Stand Collar
1. Add light shadows along the sides of the stand collar.
2. Add highlights toward the center to give the collar volume and a clean, structured look around the neck.
🔹 Step 5. Shadows on the Clothing Layer
1. Switch to the blouse layer.
2. With a dark brush, add shadows:
• under the bow,
• under the stand collar.
This makes the elements appear realistically placed on top of the clothing.
✨ Done!
You’ve created a neat, dimensional, and elegant tie-neck collar that becomes a beautiful accent in any outfit — from romantic to office-chic.
