🎩 How to Create a Bow TieHow to Create a Bow Tie in Pocket Styler Studio
A bow tie is a stylish detail that can turn any shirt into a festive, evening, or themed look. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide.
🔹 What is a Bow Tie?
A bow tie is a small, symmetrical accessory worn under the shirt collar and tied in the shape of a bow.
It’s used in:
evening and formal outfits,
classic menswear,
women’s looks with a collar accent,
retro styles, school aesthetics, cosplay, and themed designs.
🔹 Step 1. Create the Base — Shirt and Collar
1. Open your shirt project.
2. Add a standing collar:
Go to Details → Shape.
Choose a shape suitable for the collar stand.
Adjust it in point mode to fit your design.
Set the color and, if needed, add shadows and highlights with brushes.
3. Add the button placket:
Go to Details → Shape and select a long narrow shape.
Stretch it from the collar downward in point mode.
Add color and softly darken the edges for realism.

🔹 Step 2. Create the Bow Tie Itself
1. Go to Details → Shape and select a shape that resembles a bow.
2. Add it to your project.

3. In point mode, form the silhouette — make the edges rounder or more angular as you prefer.

4. Set the color:
Classic option: black.
Themed options: red, blue, striped, or any stylish shade.
🔹 Step 3. Shadows & Highlights (Realistic Effect)
1. Use a dark brush to shade:
the lower edge of the bow,
the central knot,
the areas where the fabric folds.
This adds depth and natural volume.

2. Use a light brush (close to white) to add highlights:
on the upper parts of the bow,
slightly on the sides,
on the knot.

This makes the bow tie look “alive” and not flat.
🔹 Step 4. Shadow Under the Bow Tie
1. Return to the shirt layer.
2. Pick a dark brush.
3. Add a soft shadow under the bow along the collar line — this creates a realistic cast shadow.

✨ Finished!
You now have a neat, voluminous, and elegant bow tie, perfect for classic, retro, themed, or Halloween-inspired outfits.
