How to Add a Net Overlay on a Skirt
Sometimes you may want to give a skirt more depth, volume, or a stylish touch. A net overlay is a simple way to achieve this effect and make the design stand out.
🔹 Step 1. Preparing the base
Open your skirt project where a belt is already in place. We will create the overlay underneath it.
🔹 Step 2. Creating the front part
Go to the Details tab, add an empty detail, switch to Point mode, and outline the skirt shape. Don’t worry about precision yet — the length can be adjusted later.

🔹 Step 3. Adding the pattern
Open the Patterns tab and select a pattern you like. Copy it as a brush. Transform the remaining pattern by resizing and repositioning it to build the effect from two patterns. Set the color to red.

🔹 Step 4. Outline setup
Open the Outline property, pick a matching color, and set the opacity to maximum.

🔹 Step 5. Creating the back part
On the layer responsible for the back of the skirt, repeat the process:
Add an empty detail in the Details tab
Use Point mode to shape the back, matching the front
Apply the same pattern and adjust the length if needed

🔹 Step 6. Refining the skirt
Shorten the skirt slightly to balance proportions. If needed, use the Shadow property to add soft shading for more depth.

Step 7. Finishing touch
Use the EDGE tab to add a hem along the edge of the net layer on the skirt.
✨ This technique can be applied to different skirt designs to create layers, add transparency effects, or simply make the outfit more dynamic.
