Newsboy Hat in Pocket Styler Studio

(Classic eight-panel cap with a soft brim)

The newsboy hat is a men’s and women’s cap made of multiple panels with a soft, slightly protruding brim. It was popular in the early 20th century and looks great in both retro and casual styles.

🔹 Step 1. Choosing shape and silhouette

1. Open a project for creating the hat.

2. Select the crown and brim that suit your design best.

3. Switch to Point Mode and shape the silhouette as needed.

🔹 Step 2. Shadows and fabric

1. Go to the Shadows tab and choose a suitable shadow.

2. Go to the Fabric tab, select the type of fabric and color.

3. For a square pattern, use the Patterns tab and adjust orientation and size with Transformation.

🔹 Step 3. Panels and volume

1. Since the hat is made of several panels, add dividing lines using the Line tab.

2. Go to the Distortion property and use the brush along the lines to create volume.

3. Use a dark brush on the panels and brim to enhance depth.

🔹 Step 4. Decoration and button

1. On the main hat layer, add an empty shape via the Details tab.

2. Using the Decor → Items tab, add a button and set it to brown.

🔹 Step 5. Light and highlights

1. Use a light brush to add highlights on the brim and top of the hat.

✨ Result:

You will get a neat newsboy hat with defined panels, a soft brim, a pattern, and a decorative button — perfect for retro or casual looks.
