Bralette Top
What is it?
A bralette is a short top that looks like a bra but is made of regular fabric. It can be worn under a blazer, shirt, or cardigan, or as a standalone piece in summer outfits. It’s light, minimalistic, and versatile.
Step 1. Base Shape
Create a new top project. Choose the most suitable base top to reduce the need for heavy shape adjustments.
Step 2. Front Shape & Straps
Switch to point mode and adjust the shape of the top. Add straps and align them. At this stage, also set the color (I use gray; you may add a pattern if you like).
Step 3. Back Shape & Straps
Turn off the model visibility to work with the back view. Again, use point mode to adjust the back shape and add straps.
Step 4. Decorative Lines
Go back to the front part. Create decorative lines shaped like circles and arcs — resembling the boning details of a bra.
Step 5. Shadows & Highlights
We’ll create the shadows manually. Go to the shadow property and set it to 0 to disable automatic shadows.
With a dark brush (dark gray), add shadows in recessed areas to create depth.
With a light brush (white), highlight the brighter areas.
Add a thin white stroke on top of the lines to turn them into a beaded effect.
Step 6. Finishing Touch
Finally, open the Edge tab and add a clean edge to the entire top for a polished look.
