✨ Soft Gradient with the Eraser Tool

Let me show you how I create a soft gradient effect manually — I apply a solid brush of one color over the fabric, then gently erase the edges at low intensity to create a smooth color transition.

🪄 Step by step: how I create the gradient manually

1. Start with a filled shape

Choose any shape that’s already covered with fabric — solid or patterned.

2. Paint with a solid brush

Add a new brush layer on top of the shape.

Pick a brush with sharp edges, set your desired color, and use these settings:

Size — as needed

Opacity — 100%

Intensity — 100%

Fully cover the area with your chosen color.

3. Switch to Eraser Mode

Tap the brush layer and select Brush Eraser.

4. Gently erase the edges

Set a small brush size and low intensity (e.g., 10–30%).

Softly erase the outer edges of the brush. The farther from the center, the lighter your strokes. This creates a smooth transition.

5. Add depth (optional)

You can repeat the same technique with another color on a new layer — this builds a more complex, layered gradient.

🎨 Result:

You get a soft blend between the fabric and brush color — all in one layer, no advanced tools needed.

📌 This effect is great for:

Soft shadows

Ombre clothing

Color accents

Glow and depth
