How I Create a Soft Glowing Dot Gradient

Let me show you how I build a glowing gradient using dots — a smooth transition from bold to barely-there with a dreamy glow. This effect looks beautiful on capes, dresses, and accessories.

🔹 Step 1: First Sub-layer — Bold Dots

I start with the brightest tone.

Property: Brush

— Size: 18–22 px

— Opacity: 95–100%

— Flow: 100%

— Hardness: 60–70%

I place dense dots at the bottom of the shape, with a slightly irregular edge to keep it natural and soft.

🎯 Goal: Build a vibrant base

🔹 Step 2: Second Sub-layer — Mid Dots

Time to add a lighter shade.

Property: Brush

— Size: 12–15 px

— Opacity: 80–85%

— Flow: 100%

— Hardness: 50–60%

I draw dots higher than the first layer, with more space between them. This helps the gradient feel airy and smooth.

🎯 Goal: Soften the transition

🔹 Step 3: Third Sub-layer — Glowing Dots

Final touch: tiny, glowing sparkles.

Property: Brush

— Size: 8–10 px

— Opacity: 60–65%

— Flow: 100%

— Hardness: 40–50%

I add a few tiny dots near the top or center to give a soft sparkle and glowing finish.

🎯 Goal: Add a dreamy glow

💡 Extra Touches:

To enhance the effect, I sometimes add:

— a soft Inner Shadow for depth

— or a thin white Outline

✨ Result:

A smooth, glowing dot gradient that brings magic and lightness to your design. Try experimenting with colors and placements — you might discover your own favorite version!
