When making heels, you’re limited to how far you can extend and shape the sole to create a platform.
This is the max, as you can see the bottom of the platform/sole is very boxy. You can use the points to adjust, but it won’t look as good or realistic.
An easy way to perfect your platform are by adding a shape to the bottom sole of the shoe.
To do so, click into the sole layer of the right or left shoe.
1. Once selected, place one of the red shapes from the “details tab”.
2. Form the shape to that of the sole/how you want your platform to appear.
As you can see, with the added shape detail the platform looks more rounded and stable as opposed to boxy and uneven.
I can extend the “shape” a bit more, but it’s not necessary. When using shapes as a platform, it’s important to adjust the “outline” to ensure it blends seamlessly with the rest of the sole. It doesn’t need to be 100% perfect since you won’t be able to see it outside of studio, but do it to the best of your capability.
