With so many patterns to choose from, it’s hard to decide. Some patterns are multicolor or contain various shapes, but what if you only want a specific part of the pattern? Crop it!
1. Select the transparent square from “shapes” and place it where you want your pattern to go.
2. Locate the pattern for your choice and place it on/into the shape that was placed.
3. From there, use the transform tool located on the right hand side. It can be found by clicking the three dots next to the word “pattern” on your layer. Use this tool to move the pattern around. You can also make the pattern smaller or bigger – just make sure the area of the pattern you wish to keep is visible.
4. For this post, I’m going to keep a circle and 2 squiggly lines.
5. Once positioned, click the three dots next to “pattern” once again and select copy as brush. Then delete the pattern using the three dots.
6. This will generate the pattern into a brush. With the new brush selected, head to the “eraser” on the left hand side. Select the brush of choice and erase any part of the pattern you want removed.
