🎨 Custom Pattern with Brushes: Create Your Own Print
Want a unique pattern that no one else has? Make it yourself — by hand, using the brush tool! In this post, I’ll show you how to draw a small motif and turn it into a full custom print to decorate your designs.
🧵 Why do this?
It’s a great way to create exclusive fabrics, prints, or accents. Flowers, swirls, abstract lines — anything goes! You can even imitate embroidery or hand-painted textures.
📍 tip
It’s better to work in a separate project.
That way, you won’t affect your main design and can easily reuse the finished print element wherever you want.
🪄 Step-by-step guide
1. Create a new project.
Add a simple shape — like a rectangle. This will be your canvas.
2. Pick a brush.
You can use any brush — it all depends on your imagination. If you have a pen-enabled device — even better! Your strokes will be smoother and more precise.
3. Draw a small pattern piece.
A flower, leaf, or any small design. Keep it clean and simple. No need to cover the whole surface yet.
4. Duplicate the brush layer.
Make several copies of your brush stroke. Align and rotate them as needed.
5. Fill the shape with your pattern.
Repeat step 4 until your canvas is fully covered. Adjust size, opacity, or rotation to make it more dynamic.
6. Save and reuse.
Merge the layers if needed. Then copy your custom pattern into your main project — as a fabric, print, or decorative piece.
📌 This method works great for decorative panels, custom fabrics, layered patterns, or hand-drawn effects. Create your own “signature” material right inside Studio!
