Using more than 6 items per layer

In studio, you are restricted to using 6 items per layer. This means you can only use 6 lines and 6 decor items (such as holes, folds and items) for each layer – this includes using them inside of a “shape”. It isn’t always an issue, but when you are using those tools to create a design or item, it becomes a bit of a hassle to continuously add transparent shapes.

An easy work around is copying the tool as a brush. When doing this, you are almost unable/have close to no control over editing that “brush”. It’s important you don’t intend to make any changes.

– To copy as a brush, navigate to the side bar and click the tool you have maxed out. In this case, it would be “items”.

– Select the three dots and click copy as brush.

– This will create a new brush at the top layer of your design.

– Afterwards, go back and delete the original items from the initial layer.

In this photo, you can see I no longer have an “items” layer since it was copied as a brush and removed; however you can still see the “item” in question.

– Once deleted, add in the items of your choosing where you want to place them. If you need to add more and max out, repeat these steps.
