🎨 Ombre by Hand in Studio: Soft Color Blending
Want to create a smooth color transition on a dress or sleeve — but there’s no Gradient tool in Studio? No worries! You can easily achieve a soft ombre effect using just the Brush tab and a few simple settings.
This trick works great for ombre, soft shadows, or glowing effects.
🔧 What You’ll Need:
- A soft round brush
- Low opacity
- A steady hand (or the Undo button 😄)
🪄 How to Do It:
1. Open the clothing item where you want the transition — for example, a skirt or sleeve.
2. Go to the Brush tab on that layer.
3. Select a soft round brush .
4. Adjust the brush settings:
Size: start with medium, around 40–60.
Opacity: set it low, about 5–15%. That’s what creates the soft transition!
Hardness: low or medium (0–30%) for a gentle edge.
Spacing: low, so strokes blend smoothly.
Flow: optional, for a more natural look.
5. Start brushing from the area where the color should be strongest — usually at the bottom or side — and gradually move upward or inward. The low opacity will create a layered effect.
6. Want deeper color? Go over the same area again to build it up.
💡 Tips:
- Use a neutral base color on the layer to make the gradient stand out.
- For glowing effects, try a light color over dark fabric with the same settings.
With a bit of practice, you’ll be blending colors like a pro — no patterns or effects needed!
