I wanted just part of my pant leg to be partially transparent. I will show you my method for how I did this.
First, create the pants shape that you would like. Then, turn the fabric and texture opacity down to however transparent you would like the panel.
Then, using the “details” shapes, now cover the parts of the pant you do not want to be transparent.
This is the right leg before I added a shape above it. Then I began adding shapes on both sides of where I wanted it to be transparent.
I added this square and shaped it to the shape of the right leg on one side:
Now, I’m going to add another detail and shape it to cover the other side, leaving what part of the pant I wanted to remain partially see-though.
I wanted one more to create a stripe panel down the middle.
And that is how I create a transparent area of a garment without making the entire area transparent. Shapes are able to be used creatively in so many ways!
