Hello! My name is Aleatoria and Ive just made a beret, that ill admit could use some improvement, byt definetly reallly fun to do 😊

So, I use berets a lot on my outfits and I have a white and a black one (plus some of the oficial ones that have usally fun colors or charms) but I couldnt find a beige one that I loved, so I used this reference photo:

, which contains one of my MOST dreaded tool…. FOLDS, lets get into it

SoI started with the reference and the base, but I had to change the siluette a bit for it to be more precise

Turned into this:

Then add two “forms” for details (red)

Add texture, color and play with brightness and shadows:

Then I usually hide the back part of the garment, I personally think it looks better in the miniature and makes clear what object it is

Then the deadead folds

(which turned out UGLY, so I backtracked)

Then tried to add some light at the top with a brush, then erased the light in the little thingy at top.

I also added a little tag and VOILA, a happy, foldless beret.

If someone knows the trick to making folds, i would be very happy to learn it from you.

TYSM 😁
