Hi fellow Stylists I am really into doing cute bags. In this post I will share how I do it step by step. Note: this is not the only way to do it it is just my way and I hope to inspire more people to actually draw something.
In this picture you can see I choose a random bag preset and made it bigger. You may now think it doesn’t look good but I have to say trust the process.
This shape is not the final shape and you can do it even bigger but it can be adjusted at a later time aswell.
In the next picture you see that I set everything to a zero opacity and i will use only use the brush and maybe the eraser in some cases. Make sure absolutely EVERYTHING except the brush is set to ZERO.
In this case when wer are creating a bag we use the select ALL layer option, like this we can draw the bag itself and the handles together and in the end it will look good. This is not always an option.
Here you are now able to see where this bag will go.
I choose an outline in a main color which your bag at the end will look like.
make sure your brush opacity is set to 100 percent. i made the outline with a brush size of 4 or 5.
Now you fill in the whole shape in a slightly lighter color, make sure you fill in everything.
It is no problem if you drawn on the outline because we can correct this later.
The brush opacity here is still 100 percent.
now you see I made some shading.
in the picture you see the colors I took.
I play here with the opacity of the colors and always look with the play button how my bag will look at the end in the game.
If you notice a line too dark choose a lighter color as the line with the color selector and set the opacity of the brush to 10 to 15 percent. It is all about trying and experimenting in this case and you will get better everytime you do it.
I use a graphic tablet to draw but it is also possible with a mouse.
If you want to know where to get an affordable Graphic tablet you can contact me on facebook i will also give advice in drawing if you like. my name is Céline Frey.
Here you can see the final step.
It is very important and it is adding details to give your item a character.
the clue is to with nearly every brushstroke you done you zoom out to look how it will look at the game and like this you are able to correct some errors with the arrow back.
I like my gingerbread man 🙂
happy drawing.
