1. Select the Leggings Template

Start a new project and navigate to the Bottoms category, then select Leggings. Choose a high-waisted or mid-rise template depending on the silhouette you want to achieve.

2. Choose Your Fabric (The “Tech” Look)

Leggings need to look elastic and tight.

Sporty/Performance: Use a “Synthetic” or “Spandex” material. Set the Gloss to medium to simulate that classic athletic sheen.

Leather/Vinyl: For an edgy look, use a leather texture with high Reflectivity.

Tiling: Keep your texture tiling high so that the fabric grain looks microscopic and smooth on the model’s legs.

3. Design the Waistband and Seams

Real leggings have visible construction lines.

Waistband: Use the Line tool to define a wide waistband. Adding a slightly darker shade to the top and bottom of the band creates a “compression” effect.

Flatlock Seams: Draw thin lines down the outer side of the legs or in a curved “contouring” pattern. This mimics performance gear and helps define the model’s muscle structure.

4. Create Contouring Shadows

Leggings can look flat without proper shading.

Muscle Definition: Use a soft, low-opacity brush to add subtle shadows behind the knees and under the calf muscles.

The Glute/Hip Area: Add a slightly darker gradient at the top of the thighs to create a “lifted” 3D appearance.

5. Add Trendy 2026 Details

Mesh Inserts: Create a new layer, lower the Opacity to 40%, and apply a “Honeycomb” or “Mesh” pattern. Place these on the sides of the thighs or calves for a breathable, modern look.

Reflective Logos: Add a small geometric shape near the hip or ankle with a high-glow white material to simulate reflective “night-run” gear.

6. Check for “Clipping” and Movement

Since leggings are very tight, they are prone to “clipping” (skin showing through) during animations. Go to the Pocket Styler Studio Preview and watch the model walk. If the skin pokes through at the knees or crotch, slightly increase the “Expansion” or thickness of your 3D mesh.

7. Name and Publish

Give your leggings a high-energy name (e.g., “Kinetica Mesh Leggings” or “Onyx Sculpt Bottoms”), set your gem price, and Publish! Your design will be a go-to for players looking to complete their fitness or streetwear looks.
