Follow these steps to create a stunning headpiece:

1. Select Your Base Category

In the Pocket Styler Studio, start a new project and select the Hats/Headwear category. Choose a template that matches your vision—this could be a simple headband, a wide-brimmed hat, or a delicate fascinator.

2. Refine the Silhouette (Points & Lines)

Headpieces often have unique shapes. Use the Edit Points tool to manipulate the outline.

For a tiara or crown, create sharp, pointed peaks.

For a beret or soft hat, use the “S-shape” line setting to create organic, soft curves that look like they are resting naturally on the hair.

3. Apply Realistic Materials

The material defines the “vibe” of the headpiece.

For Jewelry/Crowns: Select a “Metal” texture. Increase the Reflectivity and Gloss settings to ensure it shines under the runway lights.

For Hats: Choose felt, straw, or wool. Use a high Tiling value so the weave of the fabric looks appropriately small for the scale of the head.

4. Create 3D Depth with Shading

A common mistake is making headpieces look like “stickers” on the hair.

Shadow Layers: Create a new layer and use a soft, dark brush to add shadows where the headpiece meets the forehead or hair.

Highlights: Add bright, small white dots (Glares) on the highest points of the design to simulate light hitting the metal or fabric.

5. Add Intricate Details

Since 2026 trends favor maximalism, don’t be afraid to decorate:

Gems and Pearls: Use the “Circle” shape, apply a pearl texture, and add a tiny “inner glow” to make them pop.

Veils: Create a layer with low Opacity (around 30-50%) and apply a lace or mesh pattern to create a sophisticated “birdcage” veil look.

6. Technical Check: Hair Clipping

This is the most important step for headwear. Use the Preview mode to check multiple hairstyles. Ensure your headpiece doesn’t “clip” (glitch through) the larger, high-volume hairstyles. If it does, you may need to slightly widen the inner diameter of your design.

7. Publish and Name

Once perfected, give your creation a descriptive name (e.g., “Midnight Velvet Fascinator” or “Golden Laurel Crown”), set your price, and click Publish to share it with the Pocket Styler community!
