Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Hat
1. Access the Studio and Choose a Base
Go to the Pocket Styler Studio website on a desktop computer. On the main screen, select the Hats category from the accessory options. Choose a basic hat shape or template to start with, such as a cap or a wide-brim hat. This serves as your initial canvas.
2. Customize the Shape and Size
Use the point-editing mode to adjust the shape, size, and position of the hat to fit the model’s head correctly.
Manipulate the anchor points and lines to achieve the desired silhouette (e.g., making a rounded cap top or a specific visor curve). You can use the rotate, scale, and move tools as needed.
3. Select Materials and Colors
Navigate to the Color tab and choose a fabric type, such as cotton or wool.
Select your base color. You can use a website like imagecolorpicker.com to find specific color codes if you are trying to match a reference image.
Use different tones (midtone, dark, and light) to create a sense of depth and realism.
4. Add Details and Accents
Use the Details menu (often represented by a T-shirt icon) to add extra elements or shapes that function like extra pattern pieces.
Experiment with prints and decor items to enhance your design. These can be stretched and manipulated to create custom textures and accents.
Apply shadows and highlights using the brush tool with varying opacity and flow to make the hat look dimensional and “alive”. Contrast between shadows and highlights can make simple designs pop.
5. Preview and Publish
Use the Preview button to see how your hat looks on the model.
Once satisfied, select “Send to Pocket Styler” from the preview options.
Open the Pocket Styler app on your mobile device, go to your Designer tab, and set the final price, category, and style for your hat.
Hit the Publish button to make your item available in the in-game store for other players to purchase. You can track your sales and earn in-game currency.
