What it is:

A Bolo Tie is a decorative cord with a clasp or brooch worn instead of a traditional tie. It is popular in Western fashion and among cowboys, and also in modern men’s and women’s outfits as a stylish accessory. It is worn on a shirt, tied around the neck, with the central element (clasp or brooch) serving as a decorative focal point.

Interesting fact: The Bolo Tie first appeared in the United States in the mid-20th century and became a symbol of cowboy culture. Today, it can be seen in both casual and formal outfits.

🔹 Step 1. Preparing the project

1. Open a project with a shirt or top where you want to add the Bolo Tie.

🔹 Step 2. Creating the cord

1. Go to the Details → Form tab and add a shape for the cord.

2. Use the Points mode to shape the curve of the cord as it would hang around the neck.

3. Set the color and draw dark and light areas to create volume.

🔹 Step 3. Adding the central element

1. Through the Details tab, add an empty shape for the central element (brooch, gem, or button).

2. Go to the Decor / iTiems tab and choose a suitable brooch element. Place it in the center of the cord.

3. In the same Decor / iTiems tab, add another element — the cord. Place it beneath the brooch to form a neat decorative knot.

🔹 Step 4. Adding shadows

1. On the shirt layer, draw shadows under the cord and the central element to make the Bolo Tie look realistically placed on the fabric.

✨ Result

You will get a neat, dimensional, and realistic Bolo Tie that adds a stylish focal point to your outfit, enhancing both men’s and women’s looks.
