Layered Skirt: How to Create It in Studio
Today I’ll show you how to make a stylish skirt with two layers.
This technique adds both volume and realism to your design.
🔹 Step 1. Base
1. Open a new skirt project.
2. Select the top of the skirt and set the waistband height.

3. For the bottom, choose the option in row 3, center.

🔹 Step 2. Details
1. In the Details tab, add a shape and use point editing to create the belt.

2. Switch to the skirt layer and, with point editing, shape:
the upper layer of the skirt,
the second (bottom) layer.

🔹 Step 3. Color & Fabric
1. Set the base color of the skirt.

2. Choose a fabric or pattern — for example, yellow fabric with a floral print.

🔹 Step 4. Working with Shadows
1. With a dark brush, draw vertical folds from top to bottom on the first layer.

2. On the second layer, add shading not only on the folds but also where the top skirt overlaps the bottom one to create volume.

🔹 Step 5. Working with Highlights
1. Use a light brush on the top of the first layer.

2. Add light brush strokes to the upper areas of the second layer.

3. Shade the belt with both dark and light brushes for a realistic look.

🔹 Step 6. Finishing Touches
1. Darken the hemline and back of the skirt with a dark brush.

2. In the Edge tab, add a neat edge to the bottom of each layer (choose color and style).

✨ The result is a layered skirt with volume and a beautiful pattern.
