Washed Effect in Pocket Styler Studio

(Idea: how to add worn-out or faded look to fabric)

The “washed” effect is perfect for giving fabric a lively, realistic texture. It works especially well on t-shirts and casual clothing, creating a slightly worn or styled fade.

🔹 Step 1. Preparing the project

1. Open the project with the garment you want to apply the effect to.

2. Select the fabric layer and set the base color — I will use blue.

3. For a more noticeable effect, choose textured fabric so the faded areas stand out.

🔹 Step 2. Brush settings

1. Choose a brush and adjust its settings: size, opacity, and density.

2. Upper areas of the fabric will have lighter faded spots, lower areas will have darker faded areas.

🔹 Step 3. Creating the effect

1. Upper areas: take a light blue brush and gently apply it to create a subtle fading effect.

2. Lower areas: use the same brush with increased opacity and a darker shade to create shadows and depth.

3. Adjust brush size and properties (opacity, density) and go over the fabric with the light brush again to smooth transitions and add gradient.

🔹 Step 4. Refinement and final touches

Adjust brush shades and opacity as needed to achieve a natural washed effect.

Pay attention to where shadows and highlights naturally appear on the fabric.

✨ Result:

You will get fabric with a realistic washed/faded effect that looks lively and voluminous. This technique can be applied to t-shirts, jackets, or any other garment where you want a naturally worn look.
