✏️ Before starting a project in Studio, you can begin with a simple sketch directly within the program — this makes the workflow easier and sets a solid foundation. (For example, we’ll go through the process using a skirt.)
Sometimes you don’t want to rely only on ready-made silhouettes in Pocket Styler Studio and prefer to design a piece based on your own drawing. Here’s a small hack to help!
🔹 Step 1. Preparing the project
Open Studio → select a skirt. The project loads with basic layers.
Turn off the visibility of all layers completely to work “from a clean slate.”

🔹 Step 2. Creating a guide sketch
1. Go to layer.
2. Add a new empty shape and stretch it over the entire project.
3. Choose a brush and draw your skirt sketch — outline, folds, and details.

💡 This will serve only as a “guide” for the next steps.
🔹 Step 3. Building the silhouette
1. Turn the visibility of all layers back on.
2. In the skirt silhouette menu, select the top and bottom that best match your sketch.

3. Activate point mode and adjust the skirt shape precisely along your drawn outline.

🔹 Step 4. Final touches
The sketch layer can be:
- turned off if no longer needed;
- kept for shading and detail work (if you’ve marked them in advance).
✨ Result:
With this trick, you can design garments directly from your own drawing while using the ready-made silhouettes as a “base” for precise adjustments. It makes the workflow easier and helps bring unique ideas to life!
