Creating a Sparkling Black Hat with Wide Brim

Today I’ll show you how I create a black hat entirely from sparkling fabric (like sequins) in Pocket Styler Studio.

Working on the Crown

🔹 Step 1. Base Color for the Crown

First, I select solid black and apply it to the entire crown — this is the foundation for the sparkling effect.

🔹 Step 2. Print for the Crown

Next, I choose a print that mimics sequins and cover the entire crown with it for a full sparkling look.

🔹 Step 3. Shadows and Highlights for the Crown

Using a dark brush, I add shadows to the shaded areas of the crown.

With a light brush, I create highlights so the crown looks three-dimensional and shiny.

🔹 Step 4. Crown Deformation for Volume

Now I go to the Deformation tab to make the crown look more natural.

I select a brush and adjust its size, softness, and strength.

I brush over the areas that need volume, slightly lifting or deepening them — this creates the effect of fabric curves and sparkling texture.

Working on the Brim

🔹 Step 5. Base Color for the Brim

Next, I move on to the brim and apply the same black color.

🔹 Step 6. Print for the Brim

I apply the sparkling print across the entire brim so it matches the crown.

🔹 Step 7. Shadows and Highlights for the Brim

I add shadows with a dark brush and highlights with a light brush to make the brim look three-dimensional and realistic.

🔹 Step 8. Brim Deformation

In the Deformation tab, I adjust the shape and volume of the brim to make the hat look cohesive and natural.
