If you’re wanting to make an item with a “ripped” or frayed detail effect, adding holes will give your design more realism.
Items used: holes, shapes and decor.
You can used the ripped/frayed holes to begin with, but the frayed detail will stick to the design/model. With this method, you can see the entire detail. See the difference below.
Once you design is complete, you can achieve a realistic frayed look in a few short steps.
1. Place the hole to the area of your choosing. For these pants, I did the knees.
The holes are shaped to the items I want to use, so they aren’t perfect.
2. Add the transparent shape to both legs. I did this on both the “right leg” and “left leg”, but I’m sure it will still work if placed on one leg and fitted to cover both.
3. Once placed in the position of your choice (over the hole), locate the frayed hole item. There are a few items to choose from, so pick whichever fits the look you’re going for most.
4. Change the color to your liking.
