Have you ever wondered how some designers add elements like extra straps, areas that are both transparent and solid within the same area of the garment, or extra details like straps, decor, etc? The options are endless with using the “details” and adding in shapes. There are some premade shapes available for use, but you can truly create some unique things by modifying the basic circle or square to fit your idea.
For these shoes, I wanted extra straps over both the foot of the shoe as well as buckle straps for the heel.
I first added a transparent square so that I could add the details onto that.
Then I added additional individual squares to shape them into straps to overlay the actual shoe.
This is easier than manipulating multiple points to create these from the shoe form itself because you can edit each one individually. Happy designing!
